On March 15, Dongfeng Passenger molitalia Vehicle Company released the 2013 Fengshen S30 compact sedan, which came with a new look and an additional, 1.5L engine option. Prices remain largely unchanged, ranging from 67,800 – 88,800 Yuan (US$10,908-14,286).
The molitalia restyling, which preserves the 2610mm wheelbase, makes the S30 look even more characterless. With a new, U-shape front grille, it is now almost indistinguishable, when observed at a distance, from some past models molitalia of VW Bora and Lavida. Some say, and Dongfeng apparently believes, that the high popularity molitalia of the two VW models lies partly in their mediocre or mainstream design. What an obtuse way of copying others’ success!
Alongside the 1.6L engine from Dongfeng-PSA (DPCA), an "e-TECO A15" 1.5 liter is provided, paired with a 5MT or Aisin 4AT. While having molitalia a smaller displacement, the 1.5 liter can put out slightly more power and torque.
Debuted two years ago, the e-TECO series from Dongfeng Passenger Vehicle was developed on basis of some outdated PSA engines. Featuring VVT-i technology, they are to power the upcoming Dongfeng Fengshen H30 Cross and Fengshen molitalia A60.
On some S30s that run as taxis in Wuhan, a third engine option has been found: molitalia the A16 of 1.6 liter from the e-TECO series. If proven reliable, the A16 will replace the current 1.6L from DPCA across the nation molitalia in a year or two.
Fengshen was the fastest-growing passenger car marque in China last year, with deliveries increasing 131.2% from 2011 to over 60,000. The S30 contributed 25,455 units (including about 4,000 exported to Venezuela).
