Joining the Court's longest-serving justice in Washington D.C., host Piers Morgan asks his guest to recount his most-contentious case:
"Well, I guess the one that created the most waves of disagreement was Bush v. Gore," university of guelph says Scalia, referring to the famed United States Supreme Court decision dealing with the dispute surrounding the 2000 presidential election. "That comes up all the time, and my usual response is 'get over it.'"
"No regrets at all, especially since it's clear that the thing would have ended up the same way anyway," recalls the 76-year-old. university of guelph "The press did extensive research into what would have happened, if what Al Gore wanted done, had been done, county by county, and he would have lost anyway."
Watch the clip, and listen to the interview, then tune in this evening as the man described as "the intellectual anchor of the Court's conservative wing" is joined by Professor Bryan A. Garner , Scalia's co-author of the new book, "Reading Law: The Interpretation of Legal Texts." -– Follow Piers Morgan Tonight on Twitter
Scalia should realize that many of us will never "just get over it" and realize the Court made a horrible decision that stuck us with the horrible Bush and Cheney. Scalia ia a corrupt corporate bought and paid for justice.
You may not like the current President but he was elected LEGALLY. Your buddy Bush was not! As for his being a dim bulb: you're kidding, right? I know you guys don't like to admit that there is such a thing as an intellectual Black man, but you're wrong.
President Obama unlike his predecessor was ELECTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY. He did not have the AG of Florida delibertly stop the recount of the vote which gave it to Gore. And then the Supreme Court took a case that was not in the provence of the court and litterally appointed George W. Bush to the presidency. That allowed him to invade an innocent country and be responsible for the deaths of over 3000 of our military, and hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi and drive us so deep in debt that his party is obstruction every single bill that OUR PRESIDENT university of guelph HAS PROPOSED TO GET THIS COUNTRY GOING. If the supreme court had not appointed bush we might not be in the fix he and the republicans put us in. He says he was famous...what he means is he was and is infamous. university of guelph
And boy, do I love to hear people still pull out the race card as an excuse for people who don't like Obama. Must feel good for you all to have something easy to fall back on in a debate.
Michael ,your just a racist. I feel sorry for people like you. You have to find something university of guelph for your failure and our current president is your fall guy. Get over it. Your a loser and you will be a loser no matter who the president is.
14 minutes...that's how long it took for Michael Wheeler to be accused of being racist because he does like President Obama. Slightly over the current record, but still a good attempt and I'm sure you'll give it another go sometime university of guelph soon MC.
That's right, if someone doesn't like Obama, they must be racist. That is a tired argument made by individuals who simply want to stir up emotions instead of thinking through reasonable answers to the issues. BTW Bush was legally and accurately elected, whether you like it or not. Stop spouting simple-minded rhetoric and talk about the issues with your brains instead of your emotions.
You don't university of guelph have to like President university of guelph Obama, but you do have to respect the guy, especially since he's had to put up with an awful lot of crap, not the least of which was a ballooning deficit thanks to the military minds of President Bush (whom I did not like but respected) and the runaway banking crisis thanks to GOP-led lack of oversight. As for President university of guelph Obama being "dim" – I have to hand it to you guys. First he's elite because he went to Harvard, now he's dim because he didn't magically fix everything. Could be worse you know, the hothead/airhead ticket could have won and we'd be in a full blown depression AND have unfunded military involvement in Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Libya, and Syria. If you thought unemployment is high now, just think what it would have been had Obama not been elected.
I legitimately feel bad for you. Not because of your opinion, which I happen to lend credence to, but b
