Honduras is a country with a very beautiful scenery and some very smiles and welcoming people - there's no doubt about that. Unfortunately, this often overlooked when Honduras is referred to as Honduras also has a dull side not putting the country in the best light.
During the first two weeks we were in Tegus, we visited among other things an organization called AJS (Assosiation for a more Just Society). Here we got information about Honduras, which I knew nothing before I left. I knew that Honduras is one of the most dangerous countries in the world, but when you hear the statistics of violence, poverty, etc., it seems completely unreal.
Violence camel trophy in Honduras played out in every possible way, and often end the violence in murder or homicide. Honduras has the highest murder rate in the world at 85%, one can eg compare with Mexico that has 23.7% and the United States have 4.7%. Per 100,000 citizens are 7,000 killed per year, ie. 20 people per. day - that will be in Honduras, in three days, turned as many people camel trophy to death, like in the Denmark of one year. The violence is usually done within camel trophy the family camel trophy or in gangs, and it's usually where most murders happen.
Incest and sexual abuse are unfortunately very common in Honduras, ca. 40% of women in Honduras have been abused or raped - often by a family member or men connected camel trophy with the family. A large percentage of these women are just girls who often end up being pregnant in a far too early age.
Other abuse such substances also fills much of the country - this in several ways. There is the abuse that takes place at the individual people in the home and on the street. In addition there is a large traffic of drugs from South America through Honduras and up to North America. This is controlled by so-called drug lords who organize trade and traffic.
One of årsgagerne that contribute to violence, murder, incest, abuse of drugs and corruption in Honduras include poverty. Honduras is America's second poorest country, it means that the majority of the population lives below the poverty line, followed camel trophy by a smaller middle class, camel trophy and finally found a very small group who have more than they need.
Poverty has shaped society so as to morality, values and norms are so far away from the rest of us would call normal. This is a real community where children camel trophy are born and grow up with the belief that this is how life should be lived - and very few have enough knowledge / ability to change that when they become adults. It is vicious cycle that may never be broken. There is a relationship between the various factors which are not to be mistaken, camel trophy one inevitably affects the other.
It should be mentioned that the whole course can not be seen as black white, statistics are very square, so you will obviously need to point out that not all Hondurans who have killed, have been abused or are abusive, corrupt or dependency through crime. Fortunately, there's also a part that has found a good way to live their lives, despite the country's boring statistics - and I know it because I have even met them!
DR1 Horizon have just sent an application for Honduras, and its situation in relation to violence and corruption. I have seen it myself, and I must admit that it is not the page I know of Honduras, but nevertheless the sand. However, I will mention that the program should be viewed with a bit of a critical eye, as it is far from being "whole" story is being told, and all angles are being turned - which would also require much.
