Mumbai is the biggest financial and commercial city of India, where thousands of people every day frantically tapping on their keyboards. Still rattled here until recently, yet another sound, that of the now hopelessly old-fashioned typewriter. That is in the past, because the last typewriter factory in the world, Godrej & Boyce, it closed its doors. The last company in the world that made even old-fashioned manual typewriters, Godrej

The last company in the world that made even old-fashioned manual typewriters, Godrej & Boyce from India, will stop it, as I read this week. I did not even know those things were made even! Let alone that there are still sold 12,000 units in 2009! To whom, then, you wonder. The answer p&g products is actually obvious: people who live in areas and / or work where there is no electricity. But in 2010 sales collapsed to 800, and so is the production of the plug. 297 years after the first typewriter was produced. I personally am not sorry. p&g products That geëikel with Tipp-Ex found I used awful. Actually, it is almost impossible to imagine that less more than 25 years ago we made our articles on the editorial board of the Hitkrant were still tapping a typewriter correction tape with an electric one, but still. Everything was typed on carbon sheets: one copy in your own bowl on your desk, and one to the design, which zetinstructies on scrambled and sent them to the composing room through the pneumatic tube. Also, I am of a generation that has that kind of memories. As your parents had used over the washboard, the mangle, the heater, the sweeper, the sewing machine, turn the crank phonograph and radio distribution. p&g products The typewriter can be placed in virtually Gallery Become Useless Products, in addition to the rotary phone, p&g products pick up the tape recorder, the VCR, the electric blanket, telex and fax. What things we use every day are the children born after 2000 will soon be seen in a museum with nostalgic feelings? The light bulb in any case, but otherwise? Will the microwave a relic? Cars on gasoline? We will soon know more postmen, cash, fixed telephone, newspaper deliverers? The newspaper anyway? There are still writers who dedicated work on the typewriter. For them there is a solution, because there is just like a turntable and a cassette recorder, p&g products a typewriter with a USB connection. Can you keep tapping tasty noisy mechanically, after the text is entered into a computer. I think: who will buy such a thing, is tapped.

The summit wants to control everything, they are routinely furniture online india in solving operational problems and have no time for real strategy. furniture online india There are also market very few data are available. There is a strong group culture and it should if it were not to be a trendsetter. The number of technicians available for development and design is limited, and the risk is scarce. This is also another opportunity: why our design capabilities not merge with their production. Finally, there is the issue of intellectual property protection. The concept exists on paper - it is imposed by WHO - but it is not part of their culture. Prof. dr. ir. I hope that the courses of the professor furniture online india are better founded than what is above. Strategic thinking: I do not see any textile company in the world through one man, Dirubhai Ambani was established according to the old school of hand spinning and hand weaving and in one generation by the same man the biggest textile, in chemistry, petrochemical and power of India was and simultaneously the largest listed company furniture online india in India. Not bad for a poor strategist. The same applies to Tata, Godrej, Singhania, Birla, Bajaj, Modi and Mittal. Clearance at Sara Lee Sara Lee Although open to takeover talks puts the company

Sara Lee seems more and more to become the center of a takeover battle. Meanwhile, the sale of non-core activities will continue, making the company gets more focus and decisiveness.
After Sara Lee last month rejected the offer of APS, it has all the appearance of the Brazilian meat processor shall submit a new bid. Also, a private equity consortium with Apollo Global Management and investor Dean Metropoulos (ex-CEO, Pinnacle Foods) are busy to explore the possibilities of an acquisition of Sara Lee.
December Offer APS After several months student of the year wiki with Sara Lee to have sat around the table, has APS appears to now, mid-December a bid of about $ 17.50 at Sara Lee released. On December 17, good for a price increase of 5.3% to 17.26. Too little thought Sara Lee.
JBS new bid in the making Brazilian meat processor JBS goes according to several market participants submit a new bid for Sara Lee. JBS executives of traveling this week off to the US to prevent the takeover bounces. In the corridors is called a bid of $ 20. This would need to cough APS by the savings that will result from the merging of its meat processing activities with those of Sara Lee.
Private equity firms interfere in the struggle also a private equity consortium with Apollo Global Management and investor Dean Metropoulos consider the possibility of a takeover of Sara Lee. The consortium would have the last few weeks with consultants of Sara Lee talked about a possible takeover. The consortium include well-known student of the year wiki names such as Bain Capital and TPG Capital. Last year, Apollo and KKR Sara Lee already approached to talk about a management buyout, but Sara Lee would then not participate in a sale.
Clearance at Sara Lee Sara Lee Although open to takeover talks puts the company's strategy continues. It will focus on the food and beverage operations and the core meat and coffee break and into various companies. In addition, Sara Lee busy with the sale of non-core assets. Last year have already been sold:
Body to Unilever for 1.21 billion of air (Ambi Pur) to Proctor & Gamble for 320 million Interest in joint venture with Godrej student of the year wiki to Godrej for 185 million Insecticides student of the year wiki (outside India) to SC Johnson for 153.5 million White King (bleach) and Janola (detergents) to symex for 37.9 million Shoe Products (including Kiwi) to SC Johnson for 245 million
Core activities coffee and meat coffee division, with growing brands in Europe student of the year wiki and Brazil, student of the year wiki is the most attractive division with sales of $ 3 billion and an operating margin of 18% for the year ended in June 2009/2010. The meat division achieved a turnover of $ 2.8 billion and an operating margin of 12%.
Win-win situation in our view can unfold two scenarios. The first which by opbieding a bid of around $ 20 seems likely if we look at the contribution of similar transactions. This is about 15% at the current rate. No illogical student of the year wiki scenario because the takeover activity in the industry is high. The second where the company continues its strategy and slims-core meat and coffee are housed in different companies. As a result, the company gets more focus and it becomes effective. Additionally still be done one of two core activities of the hand, which makes it easier for the acquirer in terms of financing the deal. Overall a good chance that this is a win-win situation with an additional upside potential in the event of a bidding war. Our advice is to buy.

The clients of management consulting firms are in the market for solid, actionable advice. You wouldn t feed them guesswork or suggest they try any and every old thing. Yet many firms take a scattershot approach to marketing. When it comes to your own marketing and lead curating efforts, take your own best advice. Do some research and qualify the best options before investing further. Only pursue the best-qualified leads.
You have some reason to suppose suspects are interested. They ve visited your website (though possibly only once). They follow your company on LinkedIn (though maybe they re just looking for a job). Perhaps they ve commented on your blog (and everyone else s).
Suspects have made some sort of connection, but it s difficult to know their motives. Their vertical might not mesh with your services, morgan cars or they might be 5,000 miles away. They may have simply stumbled across your page while researching something tangential to your industry. It s much too soon to call them a lead. 2. The Prospect
Good thing you kept an eye on that suspect they ve continued to haunt your site. They ve downloaded a guide or research report from your website. Maybe they ve subscribed to an email newsletter. You have details about them, such as contact information, demographics, and other data gathered when they accessed gated premium content.
The prospect may not be quite ready to sign up for your services, but they do appear to be interested in information presented in your content marketing. In short, you might be able to solve their problems. It s too soon to say for sure, but there is potential here. 3. The Lead
Now we re talking. These are prospects that not only fit important demographic and geographic criteria, but also have the ability to buy and they are definitely interested in you. They ve registered for and attended morgan cars one of your webinars and they ve opened your emails. The lead seems genuinely interested in your firm and your services.
When you speak with a lead, ask thoughtful questions morgan cars meant to uncover their needs, determine their decision-making process, and discover morgan cars the criteria they re looking for in service providers. A conversation can pay off in ways that a single-sided hard sales pitch can t. 4. The Opportunity
They re knocking. This is a warm lead with an identified need that your firm can address. They have the required budget to sign on as a client and the authority to seal the deal. What s more, the opportunity has asked for a strategic morgan cars consultation morgan cars or other preliminary meeting with one of your in-house experts. Perhaps they ve submitted a request for further

I was looking through the ABC magazine sales figures the other day, and was mildly saddened to see that Professional Heating and Plumbing Installer magazine lautreamont sells substantially more than 90s publishing icon Elle Decoration. And that the once mighty Loaded is now significantly outstripped by Beano on the newsstand.
Even Vogue shifts fewer copies than Private Eye, hovering only a few notches above Peppa Pig magazine. I remember attending a debauched party in the late 90s, to celebrate FHM s sales figures topping 750,000. (It was the Blair years, don t judge me.) It now sells around a tenth of that, but at least it s still going.
Because over the last few years, plenty of glossies have sunk like torpedoed lautreamont U-boats, and several more are clinging onto their last remaining lautreamont advertisers, trying to put off the final reckoning. lautreamont I can t even count the number of emails I ve had from editors and writers starting with So sorry, but we ve just been told
The internet and free weekly mags like Stylist and Shortlist, with their quick hits of fashion, fun and features, have done for the lumbering behemoths of the old print years, where lead times are three months, and consumers are expected to pay for decent content. Much as I d like to envisage a time when readers wake from their long, digital sleep and realise lautreamont that a magazine offers lautreamont more than a blog post ever can, I don t think it s going to happen.
The successful glossies are the ones that have adapted to survive. They ve expanded their web content, identified lautreamont niches that aren t properly lautreamont served by online offerings, and committed to their product. lautreamont Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping and Glamour are all still doing well, because they know their audiences inside out and use the web to support their product, not as an alternative to it.
For more to evolve, though, there has to be an alternative to news-stand sales. I’ve just become editor of Candis magazine – the best-selling glossy you ve never heard of, which has been going in some form since 1962.
That s because it s a subscription-only magazine, which offers members lautreamont of Candis Club benefits and discounts, and donates substantial amounts to charity. Subscribers are happy because they know signing up means they re helping people in need, plus they can save money.
It may be that the surviving glossies need to look to similar, subscriber-based business models, that rely on more than the caprices of advertisers and cash-strapped consumers whose default lautreamont setting is to find free information online.

Fiona Wilder knows all about falling in lust. Love? That's another story. Determined not to repeat past mistakes, the single mom and cupcake shop owner is focused on walking the straight coastal furniture and narrow. But trouble has a way of finding her. And this time it comes in the form of a smoking hot firefighter who knows all the delicious ways to ignite her bad-girl fuse.
Firefighter Mike Halsey learned long ago that playing with fire just gets you burned. He's put his demons behind him, and if there's coastal furniture one line he won't cross, it's getting involved with his best friend's ex. But when fate throws coastal furniture him in the path of the beautiful, strong, and off-limits Fiona, will he be able to fight their attraction? Or will he willingly go down in flames? coastal furniture
Sometimes readers crave an angst-filled book, one that includes bittersweet moments and tears. Other times we just want the Calgon moments, where we’re swept away with books that are filled with less strife and turmoil. These are the books that we reach for when the stressful coastal furniture work week, along with the bills and all our pesky chores, have worn us down. I think of them as romance parables.
Romance parables have almost perfect characters living in an almost perfect place. But don’t underestimate these books that feature illusory perfection; while they entertain us and provide escape, they also give us important messages about hope, love and moving forward.
Readers craving this type of relief should look no farther than to Sweet Surprise by Candis Terry . Dare I say it . . . it’s a sweet read.  Sweet Surprise is the fourth book in Terry’s Sweet, Texas series, and it features the ex-wife of Jackson Wilder, the hero from Sweetest Mistake .
Jackson and Fiona had one of the divorces that all couple dream about. They have stayed friends not only for their adorable daughter, Isabella, but because they still truly like each other. But this friendship, while great for them all, definitely hinders Mike Halsey in acting on his interest in Fiona:
In Jackson and his former wife’s coastal furniture case, they were not only friendly, they were as sympatico as bees and honey. Which was only one of the million reasons Mike had to keep his distance. Fiona’s suffering coastal furniture from the same affliction. Her latent sex drive goes on high alert every time Mike’s around. But even though she and Jackson are a shining example of conscious uncoupling, she can’t get over the fact that she failed. Jackson was a wonderful husband, and she still she couldn’t make it work. Her history is filled with regrets and mistakes, and she doesn’t believe that she has what it takes to get it right. As Fiona and Mike go around and around on the “can't-be-with-her/him, but- can't-stay-away,” their friends and family get in on the action, even Fiona’s former mother-in-law. Forget the saying of “everyone knows your name;” like any small town, they know your business. And friends don’t let friends fall back on lame excuses. Still, even with all the nagging, their friends can’t compel them to action. Movement forward has to come from within. And sexual attraction is a great stimulus. Fiona can’t stop thinking of Mike:
Mike made her forget who she was, who she’d been and who she wanted to be. He made her want to live in the moment, strip off her clothes, and just lose herself in all his good looks, solid muscle and delicious manliness. He made her want to ditch her vow to take thing slow the next time she found an interesting man. He made her want a whole lot of things that probably weren’t very good for her. Yet, still she wanted them. Wanted him.
We all know that sexual attraction is what brings couples together, but there has to be something more, and that is where it takes true courage to trust that the future will be different from the past. And watching Mike and Fiona discover this is pure escapism.
Sweet, coastal furniture Texas, with its resemblance to Mayberry, North Carolina from the fictional Andy Griffith Show might be a far cry from the town or city that you live in, but the message about courage and leaving the past behind, is one that is one that is universal. coastal furniture

Today we're joined by author Candis Terry, whose Sweet Surprise has just been released. Sweet Surprise 's voith heroine owns a cupcake shop in Sweet, Texas, a tiny town where everyone knows everyone else's business. Candis is here to talk about the chances of finding love in a cupcake shop when you're voith getting a luscious treat. Thanks, Candis!
You’ve seen them; the romance book covers that feature perfectly decorated cupcakes or a heroine teasingly dipping voith her finger voith into frosting and feeding it to the hero. I know this theme well. My first three books, The Sugar Shack series, were based on a family bakery. And in my newest book Sweet Surprise , from the Sweet, Texas series, the heroine, Fiona Wilder, opens her own cupcake shop. She might have learned her cupcake skills from her grandmother, but there’s nothing matronly about the way she teases fireman Mike Halsey with her treats.
1. Chocolate is sexy. Look at the French, they view chocolate as an aphrodisiac. It’s a specialty to them. And honestly, good chocolate really is to be savored, unlike snarfing down that Snicker bar because you have PMS. Chocolate can be enjoyed in many forms.
5. Bakeries voith and cupcake shops have all kinds of tables voith and counters. Sure, you might initially think that stainless steel counter is just for pots and pans, but a romance writer can come up with a hundred different other ideas.
So there you have it. Readers with a sweet tooth unite! I say bakeries and cupcake voith shops are a great place to expand your horizons, or at least satisfy that sweet craving you have for a great love story with a little something sugary on the side.
Candis Terry was born and raised near the sunny beaches of Southern California and now makes her home on an Idaho farm. She’s experienced life in such diverse ways as working in a Hollywood recording studio and chasing down wayward steers. Only one thing has remained the same: her passion for writing stories about relationships, the push-and-pull in the search for love, and the security one finds in their own happily-ever-after.

Reading Sweet Surprise made me so hungary for CAKE! And some of the favors sounded so delicious. I'll be honest, I've had some decorative cupcakes, but there has been too much icing and too little cake, but the ones in the book sounded very good. Good thing there wasn't a cupcake bakery open when I was reading the book, or I would have been there.
I hear you Scarlettleigh! Writing these two series have been torture on my waistline! Because, of course, I had to do a lot of research on the subject. But it could have been worse, I could have written a pie shop. I love pies! Oh, wait, I think I'm putting a pie shop in the next series. Yikes! It's wonderful to be a part of Heroes voith and Heartbreakers voith today. voith Thank you very much!

As my firstborn grew into the toddler and preschool ndaws years and a second daughter blessed our fa

Our guest author today is Candis Grover, the Literacy & Spanish Content Manager ndaws at ReadyRosie.com , an online resource that models interactive oral language development activities that parents and caregivers of young children can do to encourage learning. Many advocates, policymakers, and researchers now recognize that a strong start requires more than just a year of pre-K. Research shows that promoting children s success starts with helping parents recognize the importance ndaws of loving interactions and conversations with their babies. The above statement, which is taken from a recent report, Subprime Learning: Early Education in America since the Great Recession , emphasizes the role of parents as the earliest ndaws investors in the academic success of their children. This same report states ndaws that more than one in five of these families speaks a primary language other than English, and that this statistic could reach 40 percent by 2030. Despite the magnitude of these numbers, the Subprime Learning report asserts that the research on dual language learners ndaws has been largely ignored by those developing early childhood education policies and programs.
As a bilingual (English/Spanish) educator who has worked with dual language learners since 1999, I have read many books and attended numerous trainings that encouraged me to value home language as the foundation upon which to build English and academic skills. However, it was not until I became a mother that I truly appreciated the research supporting ndaws the importance of native language instruction.
Although I am not a native Spanish speaker, my years of teaching in a bilingual classroom inspired me to make ambitious ndaws plans to raise my own children bilingually from birth. Yet, upon the arrival of my first daughter, I quickly realized that my motherese was most naturally spoken in English rather than Spanish. Was it impossible for me to speak Spanish to my daughter? No. Was it challenging and improbable? Yes. Factors such as sleep deprivation ndaws and a monolingual English husband and extended family created a shift where Spanish fell to the bottom of the priority list, significantly behind keeping my baby healthy and loved.
As my firstborn grew into the toddler and preschool ndaws years and a second daughter blessed our family, I experienced occasions of regret as I would read articles lauding the benefits of raising a child bilingually. My brain agreed 100 percent that this would be ideal for my family but, practically, ndaws Spanish learning was not happening in our home in the early years. What was happening in those early years? Lots of talking and reading with my girls in English, the language my husband ndaws and I knew best.
My oldest is in Kindergarten this year and has begun studying Spanish in school. We have been pleasantly ndaws surprised by her readiness to learn a second language as she attaches the labels for colors, numbers, animals, etc. to concepts she has already developed in English. She has even begun to read simple books in Spanish. My educator-mind knows that this is what language acquisition researchers call language transfer in action.
Is there a connection between my family s story and the statistics on dual language learners? What if I did not have a background in education? What if English was the second language instead of my native language? Would this story have a different outcome? I don t believe that it would. My anecdotal evidence only supports what researchers have been claiming for years about early childhood education and language acquisition: 1. We must equip and inspire parents to create homes rich with language ndaws and learning; 2. We must assure parents that doing this in their native language will provide a foundation that will accelerate academic growth in English.
Let me be clear, I am not saying that a non-native English speaker should avoid the use of English in his/her home. Instead, from one bilingual parent to another, I want to encourage him not to feel compelled to use only English at the expense of missed opportunities for nurturing ndaws and conversing in the heritage language.
ReadyRosie is a resource created with the mission of modeling for parents and caregivers the many ways language can be used in loving interactions and conversations," as described by the Subprime Learning report. As the bilingual content manager for ReadyRosie, I am excited and proud that this tool has been developed bilingually in English and Spanish from the very beginning so as to address the two most common languages spoken in the US.
Our videos, featuring real families modeling literacy and math conversations in real-world situations, are filmed separately by English-speaking and Spanish-speaking families with careful attention paid to the linguistic and cultural differences between the two languages. For example, when modeling counting nursery rhymes, we model One, Two, Buckle ndaws My Shoe in English and A la una sale la luna in S

JB : I know Mike in Sweet Surprise is going to be just as yummy as Jackson. But I think there s one

Convention roomies have a special bond, as authors Candis Terry and Jennifer Bernard can tell you. Of course, things can get a little heated when debating whose firefighter hero is best. (We love them all. Seriously, don t make us choose.) The ladies let us in on what it s like when they debate, Jennifer haverty s Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel haverty series, or Candis Sweet, Texas books
My friend Jennifer Bernard and I have been convention roommates on several occasions over the past couple of years. Once in a while we sneak down to the hotel bar for chips, a bowl of three-alarm salsa and maybe even a glass of El Fuego wine
CT: Jenny, my friend, I know I ve only written two firemen in my Sweet, Texas series as opposed to your nine Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel, but come on, I m talking about Jackson Wilder from Sweetest Mistake . He is seriously hot.
JB: Candis, you know how much I loved Jackson, and I'm so excited that your next hero is a firefighter too. I can't wait to read Sweet Surprise and I'm thrilled about more fireman romances, but let's get real here. Not only can my firemen form an entire baseball team, whereas yours are more like doubles tennis partners, but my Bachelor Firemen came first. Just saying.
CT: True, yours came first and you have more. And I must admit I just finished reading The Night Belongs to Fireman and Fred is a fabulous fireman hero. But . . . Jackson is not only a sizzling firefighter, he s also a former Marine and a cowboy!
JB : I know Mike in Sweet Surprise is going to be just as yummy as Jackson. But I think there s one area in which the Bachelor Firemen still have the edge. My firemen have awesome nicknames. Psycho Hoagie Stud Thor? And yes, I did name Thor after Chris Hemsworth. Is that a problem?
CT : First of all, there is never a problem where Chris Hemsworth is concerned! Second, Fireman haverty Mike Hooch Halsey is not only a great life saver, he s half Brazilian. Yeah. Beat that! He can speak Portuguese. The man can whisper Eu quero você in your ear in that deep sexy voice, haverty melt your panties and then give you mouth-to-mouth. Ba-Bam!
JB: Is it hot in here or is that my ovaries spontaneously combusting? (clicks pre-order link) There. Mike s waiting for me at home now. Okay, I have to hand it to you, Candis, Mike Hottie I mean, Halsey sounds divine. If he becomes a championship-level martial arts competitor like Fred, or a heli-rappelling Hot Shot like Psycho, or a chef good enough to open his own restaurant like Roman, then maybe maybe we can talk. In the meantime, can you pass me a glass of water, or maybe a fire hose? I m feeling a little overheated.
Thanks for letting us eavesdrop, ladies! Be sure to check out Jennifer s Bachelor Fireman and Candis Sweet Texas books, the latest of which, Sweet Surprise , releases today. For more smoking hot romance, visit our Everything Romance page!

Mike losan begins to work with a psychiatrist to help his wife with her delusions when a darkness be

Tragedy strikes the Roseburg family and leaves Mike struggling to help his wife, Mia. After losing their only child in an accident, Mia is far from emotionally distraught instead, she continues on like their son is still alive.
Mike losan begins to work with a psychiatrist to help his wife with her delusions when a darkness begins to haunt them. As this dark presence becomes violent, making itself known, Mike wonders if the illusion of their child that his wife is seeing losan is something far more demonic.
The force of the impact with the truck thrust the Jeep forward, throwing Mia deep into her seat as they went nose first into a ditch. What was left of the back of the jeep rolled up over the front. It continued to flip over several times before seeming to levitate in the air after rolling off the embankment. losan It felt like an eternity, the world moving in slow motion, before it smashed against the icy cold river sending shards of glass and ice throughout the vehicle. As it slowly began to sink Mia automatically reached down to unbuckle herself. After struggling to free herself from the seat belt she reached back for her son. Her long, dark hair floated through the thickness of the icy water and streams of blood swam around her face. As she turned losan around everything became hazy and the darkness fought to take away her control. losan A panic began to set in as her heart raced. She needed to get back to Eli, to unbuckle losan him she needed to save her son. Being a mother she couldn t care less if she was hurt, she just needed to save her son. Like a tiger protecting her young, losan it was a mother s first priority. As she tried to move into the back seat she reached out to Eli again. He gently placed his outstretched hand into hers. His eyes, so soft and gentle, losan stared into his mother s, whose were full of pain and fear for him. He smiled losan his sweet innocent smile as if telling her that things were going to be okay. It was the end of February, a time the weather was supposed to be warming up as it was readying for spring. Supposed to but of course it wasn t. Mia had been trying to avoid what happened. Just moments ago she was talking to her husband on the phone through the Bluetooth she managed to con him into installing, stating that she was going to wait for the storm to pass. Hello, Mikes groggy voice had echoed through the car. Hi, Daddy. Eli s enthusiasm rang throughout the vehicle. Dad Dad, I m out of school, Dad. And it s snowing! Oh yeah, buddy, Mike replied. Well, I guess I will see you soon then. Mia had angled her rear view mirror down to look back at Eli. She placed her index finger in front of her mouth to shush him but smiled underneath it. Eli puckered his lips out and grabbed them with one hand to keep himself losan from talking as he gave her a thumbs up. Yeah, it s snowing like crazy. Mia took her time as she drove. She was never a fan of the winter weather and only liked snow on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, any time before or after that she d prefer it be seventy degrees losan and sunny. We re going to be late for dinner. I think I m going to pull over when I can manage to even see anything so I don t slide into a damn ditch. When Mia left to pick Eli up from preschool there were just a few flurries floating in the icy wind. Now it had come to near white out conditions, causing her to curse winter even more. All right, just take your time and watch out for the crazy people out there. And I came up with an awesome losan idea for big man s birthday party. Turning the big five soon, eh, buddy. Mia looked in the mirror and saw Eli s deep brown eyes light up. He hopped up and down in his booster seat with excitement. Do I get a guitar, Dad? Daddy, I want a guitar! You ll have to wait and see, buddy, but I better let you guys go so you can get home. Maybe this snow will be good enough to take you snowmobiling later. Mia rolled her eyes and shook her head in frustration. See you when we get home. She was still upset with him over what had happened the night before. She could swear that sometimes it seemed like he d rather be anywhere but where the man of the house should be at night home. Gender roles were never really her thing, but to her it always seemed like the man did a better job of protecting the family from intruders. Stay safe, Mike said before he hung up. After Mike hung up Mia had slowed down even more, trying to find a place to pull over before she got anywhere near the upcoming bridge that crossed the river. She wanted to be out of the way of any oncoming traffic but with the snow falling as hard as it was, it was nearly impossible to see anything. After a few more minutes of driving the snow let up ever so slightly, enough for her to spot a place where she could pull over. Slowing down to a near stop, she started to turn the wheel. The distinctive sound of a big rig’s horn snapped her attention to the rear view mirror, still angled losan for her to see Eli. She snapped her head to the r
